JOB SUMMARY: This position will work directly under the supervision of the Marketing Coordinator. Following a training period, the intern(s) will support the Marketing department in activities such as, but not limited to: special event assistance, inventory management, social media, including graphic design and content, material distribution, data entry, and high school blood drive promotions and programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to join our team for an internship. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in many aspects of Marketing within the non-profit sector while contributing to life-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Special Event Assistance: Assist in coordinating special events and blood drives, including promotion, logistics, on-site support, and post-event needs.
  2. Inventory Management: Maintain and improve inventories of incentive items used for donor recruitment and retention. Assist in organizing and managing inventory for promotional materials and supplies.
  3. Social Media Support: Contribute to our social media presence by creating content, scheduling posts, and engaging with our online community as well as young and first-time donors. Explore and propose new platforms to reach younger donors and manage those pages effectively.
  4. High School Promotion Support: Update materials for use at high school blood drives to better engage students in the message of why they should donate blood. Help identify what incentivizes high school donors to sign up and identify areas for improvement in tactics and messaging.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in school with a passion for marketing and community engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Enthusiasm for making a positive impact in the community.
  • Eager, hardworking, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • May occasionally be required to lift objects or materials weighing up to 35 pounds.
