CBC President & CEO, John Hagins, selected as 2023 Titan 100

October 18, 2022

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is proud to announce John Hagins, President & Chief Executive Officer, has been chosen as a 2023 Titan 100, one of Wisconsin’s top CEOs and C-Level Executives. Titan CEO and headline sponsor Wipfli LLP recognized the area’s most accomplished business leaders in their industry – focusing on leadership, vision and passion.

Hagins serves as a leader in many roles both in the community and nationally. As President and Chief Executive Officer of CBC, Hagins is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the healthcare nonprofit. With 35 years of blood banking experience, he has played an instrumental role in the growth of the organization—from acquiring new hospital partners to expanding services beyond state lines.

Hagins is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Blood Centers, Inc., a newly formed affiliation between CBC and the Blood Center of Northcentral Wisconsin. Through this affiliation, he helps lead the organization to better serve communities and, ultimately, save more lives, while honoring the commitments of local blood donors and other community supporters who have been essential to the successes of both blood centers.

Hagins currently serves as the Chair of the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) Interorganizational Task Force on Domestic Disasters and Acts of Terrorism. This Task Force was formed in 2002 to help manage blood collection after domestic disasters and acts of terrorism, as well as keep the public informed on the status of the national blood supply.

“It’s an honor to be recognized as a Titan 100, alongside other executives who are committed to leading their industry throughout the state,” said Hagins. “At the end of the day, my goal is always making sure patients relying on blood transfusions have access to that blood. We work hard for this to happen because we know someone’s life is on the other end of every unit of blood we collect. I’m honored to be able to lead an organization that is impacting so many people and saving lives.”

In addition to serving on several blood banking-related boards, Hagins also sits on the Public Policy Council of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the YMCA of the Fox Cities Corporate Board from 2015-2021.
