If so, The Community Blood Center (CBC) has an exciting opportunity for you on our Donor Recruitment team as an Outside Sales Representative/Event Planner. This is a vital and rewarding position that will play a key role in sharing our lifesaving mission.

The successful Outside Sales Representative/Event Planner is a professional, goal-driven “people person” who is an active, knowledgeable member of the community. Key responsibilities will be promoting blood drive programs to schools, community leaders and groups, companies and businesses, churches and other civic and community groups.

A candidate must be customer-focused and possess experience with sales and event planning. This position is responsible for recruiting new donor groups and expanding existing groups for an established territory. As such, the Outside Sales Representative/Event Planner will plan, organize, and promote effective and exciting events, along with presentations to share The Community Blood Center’s mission by developing a strategy to achieve assigned collection goals and meet performance metrics.

Schedule: Monday through Friday; some weekends, does involve irregular hours, which can include occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends to ensure blood drives operate smoothly and efficiently. 

Salary: Competitive pay based on education and/or experience with monthly incentive opportunities.

Position:

As an Outside Sales Representative/Event Planner, you will use your outbound sales skills to identify and recruit local business leaders and institutions for mobile-blood drive sponsorship opportunities. You will develop strategic account plans and coach blood-drive coordinators in planning donor recruitment programs to make sure CBC is able to meet the blood donation needs of our communities.

Qualifications:

Experience

• Outside sales or similar experience working directly with customers is required.
• This role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with strong knowledge of Word and common office equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• You’ll be responsible for identifying and meeting with local business leaders, groups, institutions, and other audiences to secure mobile blood drive sponsorships via phone, email, and in-person presentations.
• You’ll work with the Donor Recruitment team to develop strategic account plans to meet production goals.

• You’ll help us project mobile blood drive collections for individual drives to help CBC meet or exceed monthly and annual blood supply goals.
• You’ll work with key accounts, drive chairpersons, and coordinators to schedule and coordinate blood drives in compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and mobile scheduling guidelines to ensure a successful blood drive and drive repeat sponsorships.
• You’ll use our CRM to maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, sponsor group information, and blood drive results.
• You’ll conduct evaluation meetings in a timely manner with the blood drive coordinator to assess the effectiveness of the blood drive, make recommendations for improvement, and schedule the next blood drive.

• All other duties as may be assigned by management

Education

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience is required.
