CBC hosts 4th annual Holiday Blood Drive

December 21, 2021

The best gift of all won’t be found under a Christmas tree this year or wrapped with a big bow on top. Regardless, it will still be one of the most powerful gifts for a patient in need of a blood transfusion. The Community Blood Center (CBC) encourages community members to donate blood at the 4th Annual Holiday Blood Drive and help patients in their medical journey this holiday season.

What: The Community Blood Center Holiday Blood Drive
When: Friday, December 24, 2021, 6 a.m.-noon
Where: Fox Cities Exhibition Center (355 W. Lawrence St., Appleton)

SCHEDULE YOUR DONATION

All presenting donors will receive a long-sleeved CBC t-shirt and breakfast/lunch from Panera.

“The need for blood never takes a holiday and that’s why it’s so important we continue to collect blood on Christmas Eve and throughout the holiday season,” said Kristine Belanger, Vice President, Operations and Chief Operating Officer, The Community Blood Center. “We’re excited to be hosting our Holiday Blood Drive again this year to embrace the holiday festivities while also ensuring there is a reliable blood supply available for patients who rely on it.”

This particular time of the year can be incredibly challenging for blood donation. The holidays and winter weather often make finding blood donors more difficult. In addition, blood centers across the U.S. are feeling the effects of the national blood shortage. There’s an urgent need for blood donors as the national blood supply is at one of the lowest levels in recent years.

All healthy and eligible donors are encouraged to schedule a donation at communityblood.org or call (800) 280-4102.
