A message to our community

November 5, 2021

To our community of blood donors and blood drive sponsors:

We are facing challenging times. Staffing shortages and adjusted operations are happening all around us, locally and nationally. This is affecting The Community Blood Center as well.

Our team has been monitoring the challenges that are occurring because of staffing shortages. As a result, we have temporarily adjusted staffing resources to provide a positive donation experience while ensuring we can still meet the demands of local hospital patients.

We share this with you to ask for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we navigate these unique times. We are making adjustments to both the donor center and mobile blood drive operations. We will call you if these changes affect a currently scheduled appointment you have.

Our goal is to continue to keep your whole blood donation appointment to about an hour. These temporary adjustments will help in creating a positive and efficient donation experience.

With these changes, it is of utmost importance that donors make and keep their blood donation appointments. If you are not able to make your appointment, please inform us as soon as possible so we can fill that vacancy with another donor.

Schedule Your Donation

Please know we are working tirelessly to hire new team members so we can return to regular operations. Because of you and your dedication, we can continue to meet the transfusion needs of local patients. We could not do it without you.
