If you knew that you could save a life with a single platelet donation, what would stop you from doing it? Platelet donors at CBC step up for a variety of reasons: a sense of responsibility, a need for a brief bit of relaxation, or even an innate desire to save the world, one person at a time.
But what unites all platelet donors is, when they step up to the plate, they are very literally helping to save a life. Platelets only last 5-7 days, yet every fifteen seconds, someone needs them, and they can only receive them from a volunteer platelet donor.
