Note: the event video will not appear until 5:30 p.m. on May 19.
Who is being honored at this event?
We are excited to bring together the many incredible community members it takes to fulfill our mission, including milestone blood and platelet donors, COVID-19 convalescent plasma donors, Be The Match® donors, volunteers, and blood drive coordinators. In addition to celebrating those essential to fulfilling our mission in 2020, we are excited to honor 2019 milestone donors and community members whose events were cancelled due to COVID-19.
What’s new with this year’s event?
This is our first-ever live virtual recognition event! We are also excited to bring together all of the community members essential to helping fulfill our mission in one event.
How long is the program?
The estimated program runtime is 75 minutes.
Will my name be called?
Due to the nature of a live virtual event, names will appear on-screen twice, once during the pre-show and once at the close of the program. They will not be called individually. To protect your privacy, names will appear with your first name, last initial and hometown. For example: George S., Berlin.
Will I be on camera?
We always love seeing you, but the camera feature won’t be on for this evening’s event. You’ll be able to see us, but we won’t be able to see you. Other event attendees won’t be able to see you either. (That also means you can attend in pajamas. Or a tuxedo. Your call!)
Can you hear me if I’m talking?
Event attendees won’t be able to turn on microphones and talk with each other, or with CBC, during the live virtual event.
