CBC Grows Partnership with ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano

January 6, 2020

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is proud to announce that we have expanded our partnership with ThedaCare to include ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano and are now the sole supplier of blood products transfused to Shawano, Wis.-area patients at this hospital!

“We have had a long-standing partnership with ThedaCare and this relationship has always been predicated on serving patients in need,” says John Hagins, President and CEO of The Community Blood Center. “Extending our partnership to include Shawano further supports our mission and commitment to the local community.”

With this new partnership, patients at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano will have the benefit of a dependable blood supply from a local organization that hosts over 100 mobile blood drives monthly, in addition to donor center locations in Appleton, Oshkosh, Little Chute, and Woodruff, Wis.

“We are excited to welcome The Community Blood Center to our campus,” said Julie Chikowski, Vice President of Critical Access Hospitals and ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. “We are grateful for lifesaving resources provided by CBC for the Shawano community.”

“There is no substitute for human blood,” Hagins explains. “We rely on volunteer blood donors and blood drive sponsors to provide the support necessary for a strong and stable blood supply. We are honored to partner with ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano to do just that.”
