High schools are back in session throughout Wisconsin, and that means that high school blood drives are kicking into high gear as well. With this in mind, The Community Blood Center is thrilled to announce that our all-new Gallon Grad portal is now live and accessible for students!
The Gallon Grad Program, CBC’s signature effort to help students become involved in their schools’ blood drives, encourages students to contribute in four different ways:
- Donating blood three times
- Volunteering five hours with their high school blood drive
- Recruiting five new blood donors
- Hosting a blood drive
When a student completes two or more of these achievements, they will then be recognized at their spring Senior Awards Night, and will also receive a graduation cord (or pin, in certain cases) and a certificate acknowledging their Gallon Grad status. Additionally, since we know that not all students are able to donate blood, we’ve made it so that the “Recruit” and “Hosting” items may be completed more than once.
So how do you get started? First things first, a student must visit our Gallon Grad portal page and register to create an account. From there, then can then begin logging their achievements toward becoming a Gallon Grad! You can have your questions about the program answered here, and click on the button below to get started!
