The Community Blood Center is committed to reaching out to young people, and providing them with the information needed to make educated health choices. In our efforts to recruit future blood donors, we need to teach them about the importance of blood donation today.
My Blood, Your Blood is a science education program that explains the blood donation process on a level that children and high school students can understand.
Created by team of scientists, physicians, and educators, the program teaches K-12 students about the importance and function of blood, in a fun and interactive way. The My Blood, Your Blood website can be found at www.mybloodyourblood.org.
The curriculum meets National Science Standards and has been endorsed by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, and the American Hospital Association.
To request a My Blood, Your Blood videotape or DVD, or an educational presentation for your class, please call Angela Brumm at (800) 280-4102, ext 3044, or e-mail her at abrumm@communityblood.org.
The Community Blood Center also offers presentations and tours for groups of students and adults. We can come to your site, or schedule a tour of our main center at 4406 West Spencer Street in Appleton.
