Volunteers: Sharing the Gift of Time

When you join the Community Blood Center volunteer team, you're helping to save lives right here in your community!

Whether assisting donors, transporting supplies, or helping with clerical projects, volunteers perform essential roles in ensuring that local hospital patients receive the blood they need.

There are a variety of ways that you can help, and most of them do not require a medical or nursing background. The only real “job requirement” is a personal desire to help others.

Volunteer opportunities are available on a variety of days and times, and there is no minimum or maximum number of hours for volunteering.

Some volunteer opportunities are during business hours, while others are on weekends, early mornings, or early evenings. Our Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to find a time that fits into your calendar!

Current volunteering options may include:

Welcoming and assisting donors at blood drives

Serving refreshments to blood donors

Providing hospitality or logistical support at special events

Transporting supplies to blood drives and donor centers

Helping with mailings, clerical projects, or other office support

Making telephone calls to donors

For more information on becoming a volunteer with the Community Blood Center, please call our Volunteer Coordinator at (800)280-4102 or e-mail us at cbc@communityblood.org.
