Each day, thousands of patients with leukemia and other

life-threatening diseases hope for a bone marrow donor who can

make their transplant possible.  70 percent of these patients

do not have a donor in their family.

You have the power to heal & the power to save a life!

The first step to become a marrow donor is to join the registry.

VIDEO LINK  Anyone between the ages of

18-60 who are willing to donate to any patient in need and

meets the health guidelines can join.

Join the registry at any Be The Match - Fox Cities marrow drive,

at the Community Blood Center or request a home kit by emailing your name and address to kvanderwielen@communityblood.org.

The total cost to add a new member to the Be The Match registry

is about $100.  This includes the initial tissue typing needed to match donors to searching patients and other related costs.  We ask each potential donor along with other individuals, organizations, and foundations to make a tax-deductable contribution.  These monetary gifts ensure financial resources are available so more people in the local community can join in the future.  Every gift helps - making life-saving transplants a reality for more patients - contribute now.

If you are a potential match, we will contact you to undergo further

testing to determine if you are the best match for the patient.

If you are the best match for the patient you will be asked to donate cells through one of two ways.

Donors recover quickly from either procedure and your cells are naturally replenished within a few weeks.
